this is going to be my house in just three short weeks. its FUCKING AWESOME!!!
( i invaded google maps and looked around the whole area. you can see the marine which is just outside the window, and the roads and shops. its funny cause you can actually see the people in their everyday lives, frozen at one angle caught from space, like the guy in the picture...)

here we are on the 10th of july, and there are only 20 more days for me in Israel. On the way to Chicago we plan to stay in New York a couple of days. its really exciting for me because the longest i've ever stayed in NY is only a day!! you always here so much about new york city and we're going to see the sights, visit museums and parks, i plan on maybe a lot of shopping and getting to know the city better!
NY is one hour flight from Chicago, and around 6 hours on the bus or so. when i'll actually make the trip i might know more accurately cause right now these might be rumors...
anyway, so i'm pretty much spending my time well right now doing absolutely - nothing. most of my friends have got jobs for the summer but i thought- i have only one more month to spend in israel with my friends, why should i work instead of having fun! in any other circumstance i would have found me a job, a loong time ago... but thinkin of the situation i didn't feel the urge, especially cause right now i've got NOTHING on my mind and i'm literally freeee!!!! its something you can seriously appreciate after the sort of year that i've had...
talking about saying goodbye, today was the last time that i saw my grandparents before our departure. they're off tomorrow for a long trip in the US and they wont be coming back to Israel before our flight, i actually contemplated getting insulted- i mean, they're going on this huge trip to the US, which is exactly where we're going to be and they're not even bothered to come visit us in our new home!? they are visiting EVERYBODY except us!! not to mention the fact we wont be seeing them for a year...
i'm really attached to my grandparents and in the last period i've spent a lot of time over at their house. we talk on the phone something like once every two days, sometimes even every day.

when i was over their house today, we went over gran's old jewelery which she doesn't wear anymore. she told me anything i wanted, i could have.
now one of my saddest obsessions is to jewelery. i buy myself the cheap stuff, but all the other "real" jewellery have a story, and are symbolic. for example- i have two pairs of rings on me, that i've worn every sing day for the past two years. they rarely come off. (i think i might've mentioned them in the past, but for a review..)
one of them is from my mum- from when she was 16. its silver and has an eggshaped blob which is hollow on the inside but from above there is a lovely silver spiral on a black backround. the other one my grandmother gave to me but apparently it used to belong to my aunt when she was small. i've had it wayy back and its small and slightly broad, and its also silver and is black with tiny mosaics of flowers.
today, my grandmother showed me a necklace that she made herself and i immediately connected to it. it looks very simple on a very thin and delicate silver string. the pendant looks like an upside down sail in the wind and just looking at it come to me so many different associations. my art teacher would probably say its "geshtalt".
it reminds me of: a shark tooth, a dagger, a cross, a wind sail, but most importantly, my grandmother. i don't know why but all my connections to it are negative or dark. right now it still hasn't come off.
