I was inspired by a reading assignement we had to do for our literarturer class about LOVE. the difference between willing to love, what we expect and "falling in love".
People have been raised on the notion of "true love" but in truth only a few people expirience it in real life. Others are just attracted to someone by their appearace, behaviour. Its a connection you can have with many people throughout a lifetime and its your look for love that makes it calculated, unreal. It is a look for partnership, nothing more. People believe thats what should happen and it kills the TRUE definition of love.
Falling in love with a person, is a soul connection of wanting and recognising everything about a person. Its not about providing a fake self which must attract others until all layers are taken away to reveal a true self. An attraction is when you have uncovered all the layers untill there's nothing left and the connection is broken, and one believes he cannot be loved, only deepening his belief that he must create a fake-self.
True love is wanting to be with a person despite all the consequences, things that yo'll have to give up on the way. Its a comporomise, it must obtain work, the difficulties in a relationship dont always show lack of love but a determination to evercome it and be a better self. To love is to change, to take a journey with a partner to fulfill who you can becoma nd love youself for it.
Most people draw away from true love, because they fear of exposure. To love is to know everything about the other and relieve of all obstacles. People shy away from this, because they are afraid to show and give up their identity. Sometimes we prefer to be in a relationship that we can stand back from, and distance ourselves.
We look for the love we think we deserve, and most of the time have to compromise a partnership. We must step back from our expectations and evaluate ourselves and the love we give to determine the love we should get.
We are taught that true love is forever. It demands work and continued sustanability. Courage. No fear.
I promise that i will try to keep from looking for love. I can wait for it to come. There's a feeling of frustration of everything thats been taken away and starting from the begining, but so much more is gained than lost. There's time.
I will be an independant person, risking myself to attain love and in order to grow more comfortable in my surroundings. I dont' need anyone, I will risk because I have nothing to lose and everyghing to gain.
